Asteroid
This term we are learning about space related to our topic Outta This World for this term. We have been studying on a word that Mrs Nua had given us to do research on and put all our results into a presentation. This presentation was presented in front of our class. The first Asteroid that was discovered was Ceres, it is the largest in the main Asteroid belt and is considered a dwarf planet. So I hope all of those who don't know what it means read this you will know stuff you didn't know before.

Tennis Writing Sample
We started off the day talking and laughing at each other, but we didn’t know what we were going to do on that day. The sun was out and we were out.
We were heading towards the courts that’s when I knew we were playing a game or having a run. We were just going to play Tennis, very surprising when none of us can play except for some people.
We walked as quickly as we could to reach the courts. The first word that Marcel (the coach) said was “can you please sit down”. As I sat down near my friend (Bobbi Grace) we started talking. I was really eager to learn tennis cecause I haven’t played it before but I knew i still had to try. I walked towards where all the rackets were in place and we were surprise to see lots of colourful rackets lying there. I picked up a bright blue racket and walked over to the white wall.
Our first skill was how to hold our racket, I kind of struggled to hold it. Our next skill that we learnt was how to balance the ball on to the racket and then slightly bounce the ball on top of it. I was really trying not to let the ball bounce off my racket so I could be the best at doing it but I wasn’t the best, at least I could actually bounce the ball on it.
We got in to partners and we had to learn how to hit the ball so it didn’t go over the persons head or go out and try not to hit someone. We were all trying our best not to hit it out but I just coudn’t help but hit that ball as hard as I could. We had to stop and and swap turns and I had to be the server and my partner (Bobbi Grace) was the hitter. We tried and tried to not hit the ball out but we just couldn’t kept on going in different directions.
It was time for a challenge for who was the king of the Tennis courts. Tui and his friend were the first ones up. Tui won that challenge but it wasn’t over yet as he still had 4 more people to win against. No one could beat him, he was still the king and we had nothing else to do but watch and laugh. He looked like the evil person that was going to take over the world or just the courts.
It was nearly time for us to come back to class but we were having so much fun we didn’t even want to came back, but we had to. Our time was up and we were off to class.
As I walked into class still cracking up laughing and still wanting to go back to play. I thought back to when I watched tennis and it was boring watching people hitting a ball to the other side of the courts. However, when I played tennis it was a whole new level, it was fun and cool. My highlight in playing tennis was the challenge that we got to play. If I got the chance to play Tennis I would take it but I’m not a Tennis player, I’m a Rugby player and rugby is fun.

Maths Whizz
The picture that is showed on the top of the page is my Maths Whizz Assessment. If you don't know what Maths Whizz is, it is a Maths programme to help you with your maths so you can improve. The inventors of Maths Whizz said if you spend 90min on Maths Whizz then you might improve with your maths. I think I have been improving in my maths because since I have been working on this programme I have moved up a level in my maths and I am very happy. From now on I will continue working on Maths Whizz so I can move up another level.
